Have you ever noticed that your business goes through a series of glow-ups and then plateaus and then glow-up and then plateau. Well that's perfectly normal in the cycle of business ownership.
We all have to start somewhere. For me, my first wedding was in a local park and I charged $250. GASP! Yep, I had no clue what I was doing but I believed that I could do it.
Then I got one couple to take a chance on me to do a wedding with a $10,000 budget and I thought woohoo! My assistant and I worked on that wedding like it was a million dollar wedding. And we did a few in that range for a while. As time progressed our wedding budgets increased along with our fees.
I remember when we did our first $100,000 wedding and I thought we had finally made it.
But the key is not just working with higher budgets. When you grow, you have to standardize your procedures, get rid of the gmail and use a real domain email, make sure you are dressed appropriately and more. Your website, social media and online presence all have to say that I am capable of working with your budget.
And hear me on this: NOT EVERYONE HAS TO WORK ON BIG BUDGET WEDDINGS. You can still keep your business evolving and growing. You should constantly be refining everything you do.
Review your annual business plan. Set new goals each year. Review your social media strategy. Maybe hire a team so you can do multiple weddings in a weekend.
Only you can decide what direction is best.
However, you can hire a coach or mentor to help you decide what direction is best for you. A mentor will ask the questions that will bring you to those answers! Reach out for a free 30-minute consultation.
Cheers!
